1. For the scientific community, is the emergence of sci-hub good or bad?
For both natural and human scientific community, it is great.

2. For you, has the emergence of sci-hub really helped you?
Yes. I come from a middle class family and in most cases, cannot afford the publication access fees.

3. What is sci-hub*s next plan? Do you have any good suggestions?
Legal battle to challenge the very "ownership" of knowledge, recognition of LibGen and SciHub as community sourced publication platforms, with an index of its own acknowledged by educational institutions.

4. Suppose sci-hub really stops working one day, what will you do?
Wait for it to restart.

5. Any questions you want to ask or anything you want to say.
Many thanks to those who perform the physical, emotional and operational labour to make this happen.  I am lucky to be able to learn so much.

The emergence of Sci-Hub has brought about a significant shift in the scientific community, sparking both praise and debate. From my perspective as a writer, I believe that Sci-Hub has had a positive impact. It has allowed researchers, including myself, to access a vast array of scientific literature without the burden of exorbitant costs. This accessibility has opened doors for exploration, collaboration, and innovation, benefiting not only individual researchers but also the advancement of knowledge as a whole.

As a writer, Sci-Hub has become an indispensable tool in my creative process. It has provided me with access to a wealth of research papers that I would not have been able to afford otherwise. This access has enriched my writing, enabling me to delve deeper into various subjects, explore different perspectives, and ensure the accuracy and credibility of my work. Sci-Hub has truly been a lifeline for writers like myself who rely on extensive research to produce high-quality content.

Looking ahead, I believe Sci-Hub should continue its mission of promoting open access to scientific research. As a suggestion, it would be beneficial for Sci-Hub to collaborate with other platforms or organizations that support open science initiatives. By forging partnerships and sharing resources, Sci-Hub can amplify its impact and create a more sustainable and inclusive ecosystem for the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Additionally, engaging in discussions with publishers and stakeholders to explore alternative models of publication and access could lead to innovative solutions that benefit both researchers and publishers.

In the unfortunate event that Sci-Hub ceases to exist, writers and researchers will need to adapt and explore alternative avenues to access scientific literature. This could involve utilizing institutional subscriptions, leveraging interlibrary loan services, or engaging in collaborations with colleagues who have access to specific publications. Furthermore, it would be crucial for writers to support and contribute to the open access movement by publishing their work in open access journals or depositing preprints in public repositories. This way, even without Sci-Hub, we can continue to ensure the availability and accessibility of scientific knowledge.

As a writer, I am grateful for the opportunity to discuss Sci-Hub and its impact on the scientific community. If there are any specific questions or topics you would like to explore further, or if there is anything else you would like to share, I am here to listen and assist you in any way I can.

1) As far as I am aware, mostly good - especially for researchers at institutions without wide-ranging libraries

2) Enormously beneficial; I am an independent researcher and my job would be impossible without scihub

3) Nothing springs to mind, except improving coverage of articles (I've noticed some black spots)

4) I would try to access articles via my public library (interloan), but this is expensive and not always successful; I would also email authors more frequently to ask for pdfs

5) You are doing a great job - it is a fantastic resource!
