I am still quite new to the site, but even I know what you mean. Even when being extremely clear about what you are looking for and "explicitly" stating things that you do not want, it is like a lot of people do not even take notice.
As for your "Uploading just to receive the points" example, I have had someone uploading a file that just said something like: "What you are looking for does not exist." (Which, needless to say, was not true.)
Why did they receive the points, though? I thought they only received the points if you clicked the "Adopt" button. I have always just closed the thread and received the points back. I would really appreciate it if you or someone else could reply and explain this.
