Aminated lignin (Lignin@N-X) was prepared by ultrasonic treatment at different frequencies. When the ultrasonic frequency is 32 kHz, the As (V) adsorption of Lignin@N-32 demonstrated the highest maximum capacity (64.08 mg﹞g−1) and prominent regenerability (reduced by 15.06% in 5 cycles). Langmuir model was able to describe the As (V) adsorption isotherms of Lignin@N-X more accurately, indicating it is one of the homogeneous adsorptions. Pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetics models were able to describe the first and the last stages of the adsorption process, respectively, indicating it is a physical/chemical process. In this paper, a new idea is provided for the development of lignin-based material. It also provides an innovative way for the highly effective As (V) removal from wastewater.
